HALL OF HORRORS

Joshua Tree National Park has many road side pullouts
to choose from on your trip thru the park. Hall of
Horrors is a great stops!

 

 

The Hall of Horrors is a grouping of rock formations northwest
of Ryan Campground,

 

The area is full of boulders and plenty of climbing

routes for all skill levels.

Pick one of the many trails and go for adventure. Perfect spot
for lunch or snack while watching the climbers.

The views are awesome and the area is child friendly.

Rings Loop Trail

Hole-in- the -Wall area offers many hiking and walking trails.

A visit to the Mojave National Preserve with young children the Ring

Loop Trail is an awesome adventure.

 

 

Be prepared to see cattle on the tail. Dress for the high desert with

warm to hot clothes. 

 

 

The views will leave one speechless.

The Mojave Desert has so much to offer

and is worth the drive.

Easy trial in a sandy wash. Great location for morning

side lighting.

Section 33

Section 33 is part of the Mojave Land Trust. The gateway parcel offers some several actives, from walking, picture taking,  building new relationships and wildlife watching. 

 



 



Hiking or Walking.

Section 33 is located on a nice gradual incline, with the north side as the low point. I prefer to use the trailheads located along the south side from Alto Loma Rd. Walking the north south trails at sunrise or sunset offer some great photos.

Light Painting

Many of trips for light painting. Very little gear required. flash lights, camera, tripod, and water.

I prefer evening hikes in Section 33. Plenty of open

5 Things to do in Joshua Tree, CA

1. Covington Flats to Eureka Point

Joshua Tree National Park, Covington Flats 

An 1 to 3 hour round trip dive Covington Flats to Eureka Point.

Direction: Begin the JTNP adventure at the intersection of Hwy 62 also know as Twentynine Palms Highway and La Contents Rd. Take La Contenta Rd south to the park.  The drive thru Covington Flats to Eureka Point  is an awesome trip.

2. Visit Noah Purifoy's Outdoor Door  Art

Noah Purifoy's Out Door Art Museum is a must see. In the fall and winter great mid-day trip. 

3. Photography Down town Joshua Tree

Stat your photo shooting at the west end of  Joshua Tree and go east. Enjoy the shopping adventure    

taking time to visit the enterers. Locate the hippy bus?      

4. Hike the Barker Dam loop trail.

It's time to play "Name That Shape".

Many cool rock formation are found in the Mojave Desert.

Put on the hiking shoes and grab a water bottle and take a hike
in DVCA.
See how many shapes can you find in the rocks? I enjoy the simple game of

looking for the shapes. Don't forget the clouds.

 How many shapes can you find? Just one, the  UFO over the trees.

Any day with a "Cannon" is a great day!

Then add  BIG CLOUDS. Start at sunrise, enjoy the golden hour at sunset with a night cap full of stars,

Walk thru the trees and name the shapes. Hard right turn with a flower pot head.

Picture shot in my backyard. I have always like the clouds, but this picture I was hooked, again.. The wide open space of Joshua Tree, some days offer a great show.

Reflections on the water

An sunrise hike  in Joshua Tree National Park was so awesome! The trail was full of
wildlife and at waters edge you could easily fine the Red Spotted
Frog.
